Cover Art by Frank R. Paul for March - April 1936, Wonder Stories.

I love this cover.  Quintessentially Paul, with bright colors, sharp lines, hard edges.  The hovering ship itself is a particular attractive lady-bug-like design, with the lines formed by the treads and ventral indentation contrasting nicely with the roundness of the ship's body.   The repeating pattern in the treads nicely echoes the repeating pattern of lights that decorate the ship.  Paul was a master of composition: the three levitation beams and the ship form an elongated, inverted triangle, with clusters of crystals filling in the spaces on either side.  A wonderful, wonderful illustration. - F.W.

Paul also painted some nice crystals for the August 1934 Wonder Stories cover.
